Natural history: Centipedes are relatives to millipedes but are quite different. Centipedes are predators which use their antennae to search for prey. They have a venomous bite which can be quite painful so best to leave them alone! Despite their name, no centipede has 100 legs! The number can vary from 30 to 380 and each leg spreads out from the side of the centipede’s body.
Observation Tips: Centipedes have many body segments and each one has a single pair of legs.
