Pine ladybird

Scientific name: Exochomus quadripustulatus

Appearance: A black body with 4 red spots. The two nearest the head are shaped like commas (,).

Size: 3-5mm

Natural History: Common on pine trees, more common further south in the UK. Feeds on aphids and small insects.
