Natural history: Jellyfish are an old group of invertebrates that have been around for millions of years. True jellyfish live in the sea and most freely swim with umbrella shaped ‘bells’ and trailing tentacles. Jellyfish have stingers on their tentacles which they use to stop their prey and they can be dangerous to humans! Although found worldwide, there are only a few that are common to UK waters.
Observation Tips: Look out for their umbrella shaped tops, and tentacles.
