Woodlouse

Natural history: Woodlice are crustaceans, which means they are more closely related to crabs than to insects! Woodlice have been on land for millions of years and their ancestors lived in the sea. There are still relatives of woodlice which still live in the ocean. There are 30 species of woodlouse in the UK.

Observation Tips: Look out for the armour-like shell which has many segments.
