The ★ symbol is how many stars you have unlocked for each pillar, you can earn up to 3 stars in total for each pillar, the more points you earn, the closer you will get to unlocking a new star! 
The ● symbol is the number of badges you have unlocked!
You can also see how many points your school has here too each time you login! The more points you earn, the more achievements your school with unlock!
