'Dippy on Tour' saw the Natural History Museum’s famous Diplodocus visit Newcastle's Great North Museum Hancock from May-October 2019. The tour encouraged families to "explore nature on their doorstep" and MammalWeb helped to develop the Natural Northumbria exhibit to allow visitors to classify MammalWeb photos and to facilitate an educational and outreach programme. Working with 50 partner schools across the northeast we aimed to understand the wildlife in five broad habitats (Costal and Seas, Woodland, Upland, Lowland and Urban) and so contribute to our knowledge of biodiversity in the region.
This is a restricted project – only members of our partner schools can upload images as Trappers, but we encourage the whole MammalWeb community to help out as Spotters in classifying the images.
