A project set up to document the mammals of the Bunloit Estate, a rewilding project on the shores of Loch Ness.

Bunloit Rewilding Ltd is a biodiverse carbon sink project, working to fight climate change and boost biodiversity. We aim to build back better from the COVID crisis, working with the community towards a new type of land management that is beneficial for nature, people and ultimately the planet. Based within the Bunloit Estate on the shores of Loch Ness, the company has four main aims:

  • To become a leader in the fight against the climate and biodiversity crises
  • To raise awareness and promote a new way of land management
  • To be an open laboratory for carbon and biodiversity
  • To work with the community to build back better after the COVID crisis

To achieve our aims, Bunloit Rewilding has set several impact goals to keep us focused on our key impact aims up to 2030. These are:

  • Measuring a meaningful increase in biodiversity and carbon sequestration across Highland Rewilding, driven by our purpose of tackling the biodiversity and climate crises.
  • Creating employment, driven by our purpose of working with the community to better rebuild the local economy.
  • Generating sustainable and ethical profits, driven by our purpose of demonstrating that natural capital can be created for people, profit and the planet.
